The Misguided

This was a little something I penned a few months ago, when I was thinking about how materialistic the world has become.

We, the misguided
All walk in realms of shadow
Living in an artificial world
Constructed by the false gods of our choosing
Who reward us by obscuring the light
They laugh at our gullibility
As they lavish in their crystal towers
Feeding us morsels devoid of substance
And promising to satiate our desires
Yet only leaving us wanting more
Is it no wonder then that we are constantly left frustrated?
Bitter?
Yearning?
Unhappy
